Title of Job: Livelihoods Facilitator (LF)

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Livelihood Facilitator will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, evaluation, Reporting and Proposal writing of all livelihoods activities under his/her supervision.
The position will specifically work to enhance knowledge and capacity of communities, agricultural groups, businesses, Concerning Department and other program partners to implement a series of activities designed to increase income of rural households and hence combating the exploitative child labor in mica mines area of Koderma District.

The Livelihoods Facilitator will work and collaboration with the Livelihoods Specialist will perform the designated tasks in order to achieve programmatic objectives and demonstrate a quality of excellent work standards that is an example to others.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Livelihood Manager in providing technical support, training and guidance on best practices to the proposed project as related to sustainable livelihoods and youth employment interventions.
  • Facilitating the quality and relevance of the project’s livelihoods activities to promote the sustainable reduction of child labor and safe and productive employment for young people of working age within the target geographic areas.
  • In collaboration with the project team and others to ensure that all interventions take into account the holistic needs and capabilities of conflict-affected youth and support their protection and development.
  • Supporting the project beneficiaries in the establishment of, or strengthening of, non-formal or functional literacy and numeracy programs, technical vocational education, livelihood and enterprise development opportunities, that provide targeted support and opportunities to youth.
  • Facilitate the design, monitoring and evaluation of activities aimed at the economic strengthening of households and communities to reduce reliance on child labor.
  • Perform day to day program activities and ensuring that in all interventions, there are an explicit inclusion and expectation of promoting the active engagement of youth at all stages of the project cycle, and building leadership capacity.
  • Report project progress ensuring goals and objectives are achieved within approved budgets.
  • Facilitate a market-based agricultural & non agricultural farming approach.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports in a timely manner.
Skills, qualification and Competencies:
  •   Graduation or MSW with at least two years of working experiences in relevant field (MSME, livelihood and income generation activities)
  • At least two years’ experience working with livelihood, agricultural production and rural agribusiness.
  • Ability to conduct assessments, especially agriculture systems, technology, markets and products assessments and using market data for decision making.
  • Demonstrate abilities as a motivator, mobilizer, mover, net worker, escalated oral and written presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of food security concepts and livelihood programming.
  • Computer skills, particularly with online web applications and Microsoft Excel, necessary.
  • Ability to work independently with little guidance and to report effectively on project progress.
  • Willingness to work in rural areas.
  • Good command in written and spoken Hindi and English.
  •  Ability to interact with local government agencies and non-governmental organizations, private sectors and other stakeholders relevant to the programme.


  • Salary/Honorarium : 18000 per month.
